Heath Care System in the USA Coursework - 275 Words

Heath Care System in the USA (Coursework Sample) Content: Heath Care System in the USAName:Course:Institution:Date:COST OF MEDICAREFrom where I stand, I believe that medical care should cost more for the wealthy in the US. This I believe would help raise the premium revenue without affecting the low income beneficiaries. There are two main monthly premiums that beneficiaries of Medicare pay. One is for visits to doctors and the other usually for prescription drug cover usually referred to as the part B and part D respectively (Butler, 2012). Wealthy individuals should pay up to 15 percent of their income to Medicare. The system would not be unfair against the wealthy as payroll tax doesn't cover part B and D of the Medicare. It is, however, unfair to have wealthy individuals to get massive subsidies in part B and D of Medicare from other taxpayers.MEDICAL INSURANCE PLANIf I were president of the USA, I would support a public health insurance plan in which a federal run insurance agency that would compete with private insura nce companies. This option would make insurance more affordable to the uninsured citizens. It would also ensure lower rates as they have greater leverage as compared to private companies when negotiating with hospitals and even doctors. This option would succeed by reducing overhead costs. Public insurance will reduce the deficit by reducing spending and by increasing revenues (Walker, 2013). Since the cost of premiums is lower in the public option, the government would spend on subsidizing insurance so as to make it affordable. This would in turn drastically reduce the debt (Walker, 2013).CONCEPTS IN HEALTHCARE...
